The Ephesians Challenge
Updated: Jul 24, 2019
“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers.”
Ephesians 4:11 NLT
I went to a ladies meeting at church this weekend. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the message since. It was exactly what my heart needed to hear. I've been feeling shallow in my faith lately. I want to go deeper with God but wasn't really sure where to begin. The truth spoken at the meeting stirred me to action.
The guest speaker was Rebecca Carrell, radio talk-show host on KCBI. This was my first time to hear her speak. I'm so thankful God worked out the details so that I could sit under the teaching of this gifted speaker. She spoke on God's love and "like" of us (among many other things). I struggle sometimes feeling loved by God. I know He loves me in my mind, but sometimes my heart has trouble getting it. Considering the feedback from the other women in the meeting, I'm not alone in this. The book of Ephesians speaks directly to this issue. At the end of her message, Rebecca invited the ladies in the congregation to go deeper with God through His Word. She gave us her Ephesians Challenge. This is the challenge...
THE EPHESIANS CHALLENGE:
Read the book of Ephesians once a day
In one sitting
For 3 weeks.
I’ve taken on Rebecca's challenge. It is exactly the push I needed to propel me forward. I don't want to struggle any more in my heart regarding God's love for me. I'm sure you don't either. If you are feeling "stuck" as I am, why not consider joining me on this journey. I really think it is going to be life changing experience. How can it not be? Delving into God's Word and focusing on His love and my identity in Him will definitely bring about change I desire.
I'm so thankful for the godly women I have the privilege to glean from, aren't you? I consider these women my mentors. Whether it's from a speaker, an author, a small group leader, or someone I know in my circle, I know God has brought them into my path for a reason.
Do you have godly mentors in your life? Are you interacting with other Believers on a regular basis? The truth is... We need each other!
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I hope you have an awesome day!
"May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God."
